Mabo home father told me...
'During the evidence he gave dozens and dozens of accounts of conversations he had with his father and grandfather on Murray Island as a child where the form of evidence was "My father told me that when I die this will be yours. You can go and fish over there, but not here because that's not your fishing area. You can utilise your gardens for growing this, but not those gardens because they belong to the next fellow." I believe they were genuinely recalled. He had a phenomenal memory for these conversations.'
