The Advancement League
'When we shifted in here, that's when we started off in all the different organisations - first the Advancement League. Every weekend we used to run dances, there was only a few of us, Mum Stanley, Jeannie Morris, Evelyn Scott, Tom Sullivan and Old Dick Hoolihan, and there was Koiki and I. And so we got the Advancement League off, and we used to run fundraising dances to send people down to Canberra, to go and talk to the ministers, to get money. And we ended up getting enough money to open a little office.'
